Why should we be thankful to failure?

Have you imagined yourself enjoying everything you’ve wished for?
Can you think of that moment where you don’t need anything anymore
because everything’s already served in front of you?

Who on earth wouldn’t want that? and if that is possible, why do we even have to experience failure?

What kind of failure are you afraid of?
Failure in relationship, failure in career, failure of having a perfect family image, failure in making decisions, failure in connecting with God or failure on being a good person?

Pretty sure that whatever kind of failure it is, no one would want to be in the situation. But just like what everyone says, “There’s no SUCCESS without FAILURE”. Let’s see why should we be thankful to failure in any aspect.

1. Failed Relationship/s – If we always have a smooth sailing relationship, we wouldn’t be able to learn how to forgive, appreciate ourselves and the other people / things around us, weigh the things that we should and shouldn’t do to another person, discover our own strengths and weaknesses and be able to conquer the fear of rejection, resentment and heartaches.

2. Failed Career  – Since we were a child, we were already programmed that success means good and stable career. High-paying job, huge house, luxurious car, palatable food that only the rich can afford, and that misleading quote “You can get everything you want” if you will have a successful career!
Since then, many of us were afraid to fail but some realized that as you walk through the path of success, failure is essential. Without failure, there is no learning. We might not realize up to now what does success really means to us. Is it being correct all the time? (if you can) or being able to overcome the challenges given onto you? There would also be no humane, humble, supportive, inspirational, and wise successful people that will motivate you and tell you that it’s okay to fail, what’s important is that you don’t give up. Nobody has ever reached a successful path and never experienced even a single failure.

3. Failed Decisions  – Do you keep blaming yourself for the bad decisions that you made? Because of that, you might have fallen so many times but isn’t it funny? Given the fact that you failed choosing the right decision, and that you were hurt, or having difficult time because of that, You’re still here. You have become a stronger version of yourself and you finally and continuously decided doing the right thing. Yes! Get back on your feet and show the world that failed decisions won’t keep a person down all his life. That from there, you learn doing the correct ones.

Never categorize yourself as “failure”. Be thankful that you failed for it helped you to realize the important things before, builds who you are right now and who you want to be is now up to you!
