Stop Stressing Yourself In Things You Can’t Control

We used to get disappointed and frustrated when things didn’t go as planned. Accepting things that we cannot really change is quite hard for most of us. Though it is also ironic that we keep on stressing out ourselves with those things that’s out of our control while there are some important aspects in our  lives that we have all the means to change for our own betterment yet, we chose to accept and just let it be.

Things like weather, how people think about us, feelings of other people towards us, the past and future, natural looks and even change itself are some of the usual things we always complain about even if we don’t have a hold of it.

Complaining is unconsciously creating stress in our system. It’s not bad to think of some ways where the situation will be on your side but don’t forget as well that there are some, like those mentioned above that you should consider accepting as it is.

How can you avoid being stressed out by this kind of things?

First, Determine the things you have control of and try to put more of your energy in it. Perhaps, you can’t avoid such circumstances that you can’t take over with your will but you can prepare for it by focusing on the things that you can manage. For instance, If  being stuck in traffic makes you feel anxious and you cannot just snap your finger to make it continuously flowing, why not wake up and prepare early?

Second, Learn to divert your stress in the things that is meaningful for you and makes you feel more productive. Instead of ranting and being irritated while you are stuck in traffic, why not just play your favorite playlist and enjoy the moment that you have the chance to rest.

Third, Practice the art of gratification. If you were brought in a situation that is not really what you wished for, you can still decide how you would response to it. Of course you wouldn’t wish to be stuck in traffic but you can still express your gratitude on it for giving you an excuse to be more prepared with your examination.

Fourth, Focus on problem solving than problem making. When you were taken into an unfortunate scenario in life, you already know that there is something wrong in the situation that you cannot control. Listing all the problems and going back to it all over again wouldn’t change anything. If you want that unfortunate scenario to end, you have to come up and execute a solution.

And Fifth, Let go of your fears and Enjoy the moment. Don’t let those uncontrollable things take away all the opportunities you have. The opportunity to be happy, to be productive, and to be anything you want. You cannot go back to the past nor jump to the future, but you can seize every moment in your present. “Carpe Diem!”

It may be easier said than that but practice can really makes it perfect!
