Muntikatha 9: Sansinukob

English Translation:

I am always searching for myself in the universe because I might have lost it in the many people of this world or maybe, I accidentally let it go through the passage of time.

But with God’s mercy, I found you again surrounded by stars, sitting on the bright moon, in front of the mirror.

Author’s Notes:

1. This prompt list is from Putimbulak on Twitter. I have permission from him to take this out of Twitter as I wish to do the prompt challenge here instead. (You may either click on the image or the link above to be redirected to his page.)

2. This particular muntikatha (microfiction) piece is also new, written only a few minutes ago. I am posting Bulalakaw and Sansinukob back-to-back because my Internet connection is not stable. I shall post these two now and maybe the next two in the morning, so as not to create flooding here. (I shall hope and pray for a more stable connection by then and eventually catch up with the prompts. I am delayed by four days now.)

3. I added an English translation for our foreign readers.

4. The idea surrounding this piece revolves in searching for yourself and your identity. We usually search for it in our people and/or in other things and/or lose our true selves in the process of growing up. In the process of finding oneself, we end up realizing that it’s been with us all along, if we look inward, instead of outward.
